Windows That Look Better and Perform Better

Old, drafty, or damaged windows can drive up your energy bills, let in more dust and pollen than you’d expect, and even leave your home more vulnerable to intruders. EMC Remodeling replaces windows for homeowners across Central Texas, helping you get better energy efficiency, less outside noise, and a fresh new look — without the hassle of dealing with multiple contractors.

Window Replacement Services We Offer

Full Window Replacement

New Openings

Want a bigger view or more natural light in a room? We can create a new window opening or enlarge an existing one to give that space a fresh new look.

Why Choose EMC Remodeling

Owner-Operated

You'll always deal directly with one of our owners, not a call center.

Licensed & Insured

All our professionals are fully certified, and our work is backed by comprehensive insurance policies.

Local to Central Texas

No storm chasers, no out-of-town crews — just a team that lives and works in this community, and will be here long after the job is done.

Signs You Need Window Replacement

Drafts or Air Leaks

If you can feel air coming in around your windows even when they’re closed, the seals have likely failed. This drives up your energy bills year-round and is one of the most common signs it’s time to replace — money that’s essentially flowing right out through the gaps.

Fogging or Condensation Between the Panes

Cloudiness or moisture trapped between the glass panes means the seal on your double-pane window has broken down, letting in humidity that can’t be cleaned out — new glass is the only fix.

Window Frames That Feel as Hot or Cold as Outside

If your interior window frame feels just as hot or cold as the outside air, that’s a sign your window isn’t thermally broken — meaning heat and cold are being conducted straight through the frame. That makes it hard to keep the room comfortable no matter how you adjust the thermostat, and it’s a clear sign it’s time to replace.

Windows Are Difficult to Open, Close, or Lock

Warped frames, swollen wood, or worn hardware can make windows stick, stop latching properly, or refuse to stay open — beyond being inconvenient, it’s also a security concern, and in an emergency, a window that won’t open could keep your family from getting out safely.

Think Your Windows Might Be Damaged?

Noise and Security

Whether it’s noisy neighbors, traffic from a busy street, or an A/C unit right outside your bedroom window, sound-dampening windows can make a real difference. Laminated glass has a higher STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating, meaning less outside noise makes it into your home.

Crime Affects Us All No Matter The Neighborhood

Laminated glass adds a real layer of protection against break-ins. Unlike standard glass, it has a plastic interlayer — called PVB (polyvinyl butyral), the same material used in windshields — that makes it extremely difficult to punch or cut through, so even a determined intruder using force is far less likely to get inside. That same interlayer is also what gives laminated glass a higher STC rating for sound, so the thicker it is, the better it performs at blocking outside noise too.

Common Window Replacement Situations

Replacing Windows During Siding Replacement

If you’re already having your siding replaced, it’s the perfect time to update your windows too — doing both together means cleaner trim work, no mismatched flashing, and one less time your home’s exterior gets opened up.

Replacing Old Aluminum Windows

Many older homes across Central Texas were originally built with aluminum-frame windows, which conduct heat and cold far more than modern materials — making rooms harder to keep comfortable and driving up energy bills. We replace these with vinyl or other modern frame options for better efficiency and a big step up in comfort.

Replacing Wood Windows in an Older Home

If you have an older home with original wood windows that no longer function well, but you want to preserve that authentic character, we can install retrofit windows that keep as much of the original wood frame in place as possible — giving you better energy efficiency without losing your home’s charm.

Replacing Glass blocks in a Bathroom

If your bathroom still has outdated glass block windows, we can replace them with modern obscure glass — letting in more natural light while still keeping your privacy intact.

Selling your house

In a competitive market, upgraded windows can make your home more appealing to buyers and help you get the most out of your sale price.

Rental properties or flipping a house

Whether a tenant just moved out or you’re flipping a house, we can get started right away to keep your turnaround time as short as possible. We offer budget-friendly options that also come with an accidental glass breakage warranty — a detail landlords especially appreciate.

Materials & Brands We Work With

We work with trusted names like Andersen, Pella, Simonton, and Norandex — below are some of their most popular lines with each offering a variety of options and color combinations. Talk to us about your specific project and we’ll help you find the right fit.

Andersen Windows

Andersen 100 Series

Andersen’s most budget-friendly line built entirely from Fibrex — their own composite material that’s twice as strong as vinyl. Like fiberglass, Fibrex’s strength allows for a thinner frame than standard vinyl windows, giving you a bit more visible glass without stepping up to the premium price point of real fiberglass.

Andersen 200 Series

A step up in look and feel — real wood on the interior with a low-maintenance vinyl exterior. One thing worth knowing: the 200 Series uses the same wood-and-vinyl-clad construction as the 400 Series, just with a smaller selection of styles and sizes. If you’re after standard shapes like double-hung or picture windows, it’s worth considering before automatically going with the 400.

Andersen 400 Series

Andersen’s best-selling line and the same wood-and-vinyl-clad construction as the 200 Series, but with far more style, size, color, and hardware options — the right choice if you want more flexibility to match a specific look or a less common window size.

Pella

Pella Encompass

Pella’s most affordable line, Encompass is a straightforward, no-frills vinyl window — and a solid budget option. One thing worth knowing: cheap vinyl windows can eventually develop “vinyl smile,” a slight warping or bowing along the bottom of the frame. Encompass uses a metal-reinforced sash and a precision corner-welding process specifically to help prevent that, so you’re getting a step up in build quality even at the entry-level price point.

Pella 250 Series

Pella’s upgraded vinyl line, built with reinforced, multi-chambered frames for better strength, sound dampening, and security than standard vinyl windows — a solid step up if you want more performance without moving to fiberglass or wood.

Pella Lifestyle Series

A wood window with an aluminum-clad exterior, giving you the warmth of real wood on the inside with a low-maintenance, weather-resistant shell outside. One thing to know: the aluminum handles the outside weather, but the wood interior still needs occasional care and refinishing over time — it’s a step up from vinyl or fiberglass in look and feel, not a fully maintenance-free option.

Pella Impervia

Made from Pella’s own fiberglass, Impervia is built to handle Central Texas heat without warping or expanding. Because fiberglass is so strong, Impervia frames can be built thinner than most other materials — giving you more visible glass and a sleeker, more modern look, especially noticeable on larger windows.

Simonton

Simonton Daylight Max

One of Simonton’s most popular lines, DaylightMax is built with a narrow 2-7/8″ frame that lets in up to 40% more natural light than a standard wide-frame window — a great option if you want a more open, modern look without sacrificing energy efficiency.

Simonton 5050

Simonton’s true entry-level vinyl window, a solid budget option — though it’s worth knowing upfront that it comes in a limited color selection (tan or white) and a smaller range of styles than their step-up lines, so it’s best suited for straightforward window shapes rather than custom looks.

Simonton 5500

A step up from the 5050, the 5500 series uses a multi-chambered frame design — up to 16 separate chambers — for better strength and insulation, and is backed by a double-lifetime limited warranty that transfers to the next homeowner if you sell your house.

Simonton Impressions 9800

Simonton’s top-tier vinyl line, with wood-look or solid color interior options and their most advanced glass packages — Low-E coating and argon gas fill come standard for strong year-round energy efficiency.

Norandex - Manufactured by MI

Xact 7200

A single-hung window with a beveled profile and a full-length lift rail. Metal reinforcements at the meeting rail add strength, and it comes in multiple color options.

Xact 7400

A slim-profile single-hung window that lets in more sunlight and keeps your view open. Performance upgrade packages are available for homes that need more from their windows.

Xact 7600

Norandex’s best-selling  window, with a beveled exterior profile and eight exterior color choices. A warm-edge spacer system comes standard. A foam-enhanced mainframe and dual- or triple-pane glass are optional upgrades for added energy efficiency.

Our Process

Inspection & Consultation

One of our owners will meet with you to understand what you’re looking for — how long you plan to stay in your home, and what matters most to you, whether that’s lower energy bills, more comfort, noise reduction, or added safety and security. Even your frame color preference can factor into which window is the best fit. We’ll present your options, answer any questions, and help narrow things down to a specific brand using samples and brochures. We’ll also take photos of your home and measure each window to provide accurate pricing, presenting your proposal with pricing the same day or within a day or two. If you decide to move forward with EMC, we’ll send out a measure technician to get exact dimensions for ordering.

Material Delivery

Once your windows have been delivered to the warehouse, we’ll confirm and schedule your install date. Depending on the job, your windows are either delivered to your home a day or two before installation, or brought along by the install crew on the day of the job.

Removal of Old Windows

We’ll need about 3 feet of clearance on both the interior and exterior around each window being replaced. Blinds should be removed before your install date, or our crew can remove and reinstall them for you. We lay down a drop cloth inside and a tarp outside to capture any debris, then remove the old sashes, glass, and frames and haul them off. Any rotten framing is replaced as needed, and we clean up the opening to prepare it for your new window.

New Window Installation

We add flashing tape along the bottom sill and about 6 inches up the sides to keep water out, then apply silicone caulk to the opening before installing your new window. Once it’s in place, we check that it’s plumb and level, adjusting as needed, and foam any remaining gaps around the window for a complete seal.

Cleanup & Final Walkthrough

Before we consider the job done, we test each new window for smooth operation and clean the glass and frame. We’ll reinstall your blinds if needed, remove the interior tarp and vacuum the area, and clean up any exterior debris — hauling off everything related to the job. Finally, we’ll walk the home with you to make sure you’re completely happy with the finished work, and send over your final invoice along with your warranty information for your records.

We have friends who have had JamesHardie siding on their home for years and have always loved the quality and durability of the product. So, when it came time to replace the siding on our home, we reached out for samples and were soon contacted by EMC Remodeling. We met with Matt right away, he walked us through the various choices and helped us with the design. We received a quote and were able to schedule the work soon after. We were extremely pleased with every work team that came to our home. Each team demonstrated great attention to detail, cleaned up at the end of each day, and left our property in great shape. We are very pleased with the finished product and overall experience. Our new JamesHardie siding looks beautiful, and we would recommend EMC Remodeling to anyone considering a siding project.

FAQ

Does insurance cover window replacement?

Yes, if your windows were damaged by hail, storms, or another covered event, your insurance may include them as part of your claim. We can help document the damage and work directly with your adjuster to make sure it’s included.

New construction windows are used when a home is being built or a wall opening is being changed, and they have a nailing fin that attaches to the framing before siding goes on. Replacement windows are built to fit into your existing window opening, so we can install them without disturbing your siding or interior trim.

Most window replacements take 1-2 days, with our crew averaging 10-15 windows per day depending on size, difficulty, accessibility, and weather. Once we start your install, we stay until the job is complete rather than splitting time with another project.

Most vinyl windows last 20-30 years, while higher-end materials like fiberglass or wood-clad options can last even longer with proper care. The manufacturer warranty on your specific brand and line will give you a clearer picture of what to expect — most offer a lifetime warranty on frames, parts, and screens, a 20-year warranty on the insulated glass unit, and some even include a lifetime accidental glass breakage warranty.

Yes — screens come standard with any operable window. The one exception is picture windows, since they’re fixed in place and don’t open, so they don’t require a screen.

There isn’t one universal “best” brand — it depends on your budget, priorities, and the look you’re going for. We work with several trusted manufacturers, from budget-friendly to premium options, so we can help match you with the right fit for your home.

Yes — we offer financing on window projects too, with a few different options to fit your budget.
